We are originally from Tamil Nadu, the southeastern state of India. Is an ancient language of the Indian sub-continent and belongs to the Dravidian branch. Its origin is different from Sanskrit which belongs to the Indo-Iranian-Germanic branch. Our immediate ancestors are from Thanjavur.
